Greetings to all those enthusiastic hand crafters (or potential handcrafters) out there!
Life is good. The weather is superb with bright sunny days and clear blue skies. The gardens are looking magnificent and life seems to be returning to some sort of normality as we notice our Covid-19 numbers dropping significantly. Long may this last!
My students have been working hard. My knitting student has completed her first jersey. She is just wanting to embellish it with some embroidry, but then it will be done! Very exciting! Her little granddaughter can’t wait to wear the jersey – even though we are heading into mid summer!
Two other students have been making mosaic blankets and have just needed some help with the borders of these blankets. With just a single lesson each, they are happily finishing off their masterpieces!
In October, I had two delightful young girls come for embroidery lessons during their school holidays. They each sewed a little motive, learning a few stitches each, but creating something beautiful to take home with them. I am proud of what they achieved in a very short time.
I mentioned a few blogs ago that I’d crocheted a knee blanket for my Godson and his new bride, following a Jody Pyott pattern, “Cherish”. Well, now that they are married, and they have the blanket, I can freely share the pictures with you!
Lessons are in full swing and now that we are in level 1 of the Covid-19 lockdown protocols, I have decided to allow small classes again. Join me if you want to learn a new skill and meet some like-minded friends! Be inspired. Begin a new project. Contact me if you are interested in crocheting, knitting or doing some hand embroidery. Remember, you are never too old or too young to learn something new!
