Greetings all those enthusiastic hand crafters out there!
I am delighted with the work my students are producing. A student’s Jacobean runner is coming along beautifully and the cushion cover she did initially has been sewn up. Both a lovely pieces of art! Another student is slowly mastering the art of satin stitch as she creates a gorgeous Beetle car with it. Her crocheted Queen blanket (one of Tinna Thorudottir’s patterns) is going to be magnificent too.
What a sense of huge satisfaction I get when a student who has never crocheted a stitch, leaves her first lesson knowing how to do a chain as well as single, double and treble crochet!!
On the home front, my ribbon embroidery heart is finally finished! (This is a design and kit by Lesley Turpin-Delport). The only addition before it gets framed, is to sew in the bride and grooms’ names and their wedding date once this has been decided on…the date that is!
The crocheted Chameleon blanket (Tracy St John’s pattern) which I began, is slowly taking shape. All six of the squares are complete but the border still needs doing. This has been a fun pattern to work on. I just love the way the colours blend and change as I crochet each row. Since this is a baby’s blanket, and I am not aware of any babies in my life, I think I will put it away. One day I hope to be a granny!
