So, what is happening ? My business card was designed and printed, and Threads of Joy is finally official!
I decided to get an Overlocker (Serger) for my birthday. I have only sewn on it twice so far and am trying to get the hang of this new toy. It certainly isn’t as easy as I thought it would be! I guess it’s the old adage though of “Practice makes perfect”! If you have any tips, please send them my way. (lindseyl@threadsofjoy.co.za)
I mentioned last time that I enjoy visiting www.ravelry.com to find new ideas and to be inspired. I went a bit mad and purchased three patterns last week! One of the patterns is for a Cable Heart Scarf. It has worked beautifully. Working with Seriously Chunky Charity wool and size 8mm needle is a workout for my hands! I think this will make a perfect Mothers’ Day gift since May is the start of our colder weather.
Lessons are going well. I am teaching some ladies to crochet from scratch. This is very rewarding. Others just need a tip or two to get on with their projects. The Jacobean embroidery runner is really taking shape.
In my quest to recap as many crafts as possible this year, I decided to relook at ribbon embroidery and create a gift for a friend’s wedding. The joy of ribbon roses is the ease and speed with which they are done.
