Happy New Year to you all! It’s incredible that we are already in the second month of 2023. How time flies. I hope you are well rested after the Christmas holidays, and that you are ready to get stuck into a myriad of exciting handwork projects.
I was determined to complete my Tinna Thorvaldor’s Queen Cal blanket in December. I took it on holiday to the Drakensburg mountains, where even though we were camping I managed to crochet while the men in my family were out fishing. I am delighted with how the blanket looks. It is on my guest bed, ready for visitors to enjoy. I absolutely couldn’t believe it when over 2,2K folk liked the post I put on Tinna’s Crochet group on Facebook showing the blanket!
My Mountmellick design is a work in progress. This is one of Yvette Stanton and Prue Scott‘s designs. I decided to do it in the traditional white-on-white colours using Perle 8 thread. I am so enjoying this embroidery, not least because I myself am learning a whole lot of new stitches and techniques.
Lessons have started up again for the year. I mentioned Dalene Smith’s beautiful cable jersey and now I can share a photo with you. Several new students have begun lessons this year. What a joy this brings to my heart!
