Greetings fellow hand crafters
We are fast approaching the end of 2022 and Christmas is on the horizon. I just love the whole Christmas vibe – from the carols to the decorations and of course the delicious foods that appear at this time of the year. I have finished decorating my Christmas cakes, so they are ready for the big day!
As I mentioned in my last newsletter, I am giving lessons at Ribbonsfields in Bordeaux every second Thursday mornings, so if Kyalami Estates are too far for you, please consider this option. I am available to teach knitting, crochet and hand embroidery there.
My commissioned Crowned Crane (from Mille Marotta’s adult colouring-in books) is complete. Anita Bouwer has sewn up the cushion beautifully and it is ready to hand over to my friend
I am so proud of my students. Just to name a few, Gloria Mosia was a complete beginner at crocheting in July and she is now able to make granny squares with ease. Dalene Smith has knitted a magnificent jersey for her daughter having learned the skill of cabling in the last few months. Elsie Pearson has completed an embroidery cushion of some proteas for her sister. It is beautiful. Sue Theron made an adorable tiger baby blanket. But all the students are working on projects and doing extremely well. It bring me great joy to see what they produce!
The stock at Threads of Joy is building up. If you are needing items, especially for your embroidery projects – from DMC and Chameleon threads, to Roseworks Embroidery kits, to sewing needles, to embroidery hoops or scissors please give me a call. I am selling them at very competitive prices. If I don’t have the items in stock, I will try my best to get them for you. Just call me before hand to arrange a suitable time to do your shopping.
Lessons are starting up again in the 2nd week of January, so if you’d like to start the new year with a new hobby, give me a call.
