Greetings to all those enthusiastic hand crafters (or potential handcrafters) out there!
Here we are at the end of 2021. What a year it has been. As you reflect on the year, I hope you can say that you’ve achieved at least one craft project you set out to do this year.
My big news is that I am now stocking a variety of embroidery items – from DMC threads, to sewing needles, to embroidery hoops, to scissors and much more. Please give me a call if you need any of these items. I am selling them at very competitive prices.
November saw me finishing off a couple of projects. My KKNK Rewolusie blanket is done! I am thrilled with the final product. Thank you to the ladies from Oudshoorn for creating this delightful pattern. I know it took me much longer than you intended, but I thoroughly enjoyed learning the new stitches and seeing this blanket come to life.
The needle holder that I’ve been embroidering as an sample project for my students is finished. Thank you to Anita for sewing it up so neatly. You really are an incredible seamstress! This certainly allows new students to learn many different embroidery stitches and at the same time create something very useful.
I had the request from a young man to crochet a sunflower onto a jersey and embroider a little bee onto the cuff – as a gift for his sister. While I was rather stressed doing this work as I was aware I was doing it for someone else, I am happy to report that his sister loved her jersey!
My two crocheting students have finished their mosaic blankets. They cannot believe how beautiful their blankets look. Thank you Tinna Thorudottir Thorvaldar for you gorgeous patterns.
Lessons are in full swing and now that we are in level 1 of the Covid lockdown protocols, I have decided to allow small classes again. Join me if you want to learn a new skill and meet some like-minded friends! Be inspired. Begin a new project. Contact me if you are interested in crocheting, knitting or doing some hand embroidery. Remember, you are never too old or too young to learn something new!
