Greetings all those enthusiastic handcrafters out there!
Here we are at the end of 2020, and what a year it has been. I pray that Covid 19 hasn’t robbed you of your peace and joy this year.
In September I began to give lessons to two students and slowly more have joined. It has been a beautiful start to Threads of Joy. I have so enjoyed watching them learn a new craft and in doing so, being able to create something they can be proud of.
One lady had never crocheted before and now she is working on both a Granny Square cushion cover as well as a Chevron blanket. Another lady learned the basic principles of Mosaic crocheting, so that she can start a blanket in the New Year, while a third lady has completed her first Mosaic crochet knee-blanket. I am so proud of them! The embroidery lessons have also gone well, with a student having completed her first cushion cover, having learned a lot of new stitches in the process.
I myself, have been working on Tinna Thorvaldsdottir’s Fiesta blanket and so far I have done twenty seven out of the required thirty five octagons. I am absolutely loving crocheting this blanket for my daughter!
All that remains is for me to wish each of you a blessed Christmas and festive season. Let’s hope 2021 is more of a normal year!
